I just added this memorial to the website findagrave.com.  Now I can send in a request for someone to take a picture of her grave. This request is sent out to several people. I think we may have some luck with this since I posted the exact location of her grave.

Info from making the request: Great News! We have 286 volunteers within ten miles of your Request A Photo location and an additional 1137 volunteers within fifty miles.

I had no idea that there were so many volunteers in the Cincinnati area, I will start working on memorials/photo requests for the Goldens & Stross families!

A "John Westerfield"

After searching for months, this person seems to fit the description of what I would look for in a "John Westerfield". He is a physician which would make it possible for Lizzie Golden to give birth at a hospital in Nashville, Tenn. He would understand the importance of getting medical attention/surgery (in Cincinnati) for Charles Westerfield Golden as he had a problem with his eyes. Please keep in mind that there has been only one document that has been found to connect theses families, but it precedes the birth date of Lizzie Golden. The information I am using for this search is stated by Diane Golden and it was passed down through her father-in-law Harry Golden. This John Westerfield also seemed to have accumulated quite a bit a wealth and could possibly have had slaves and later servants. In addition he accumulated a lot of land and had a very large farm (1,000 acres) which might be considered a plantation. As I look back through records, this family did own slaves on many sides. Finally, this person also seems to be have traveled quite a bit through Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas. All census records covering his life can be found except for the 1880 census and Lizzie Golden gave birth to Charles Westerfield Golden in 1882. John Westerfield was considered a generous and prosperous person as the article describes him as a doctor who uses his influence to encourage and promote the general good. It may be very likely that Lizzie Golden was a domestic servant (cook) for this family or even a related family as there are many related John Westerfields in all three states that were mentioned who were also physicians and wealthy.
